Seniors Match Away v Bude – Wed 1st June 2022

On a glorious 1st June, St Austell Seniors went down 5 1/2 to 1/2 to a stronger Bude & North Cornwall team. Despite losing, the six pairs who travelled to Bude enjoyed some fine golf on a course that starts easy but becomes progressively more difficult playing to blind greens tucked behind some high grassy dunes. Only the captain, Mervyn Beattie and his partner Frank Giles managed to wring the half point from their match. Both teams were treated to a wide choice of meals in the clubhouse afterwards.
