Members who play Competition Golf know that we play numerous games which contribute to local or national Charities. Besides these the Captain and Lady Captain nominate a Charity for their year in Office.
There are days that are nominated as charity days and there are other events that raise money.
Members give freely and many give up their day of golf to help at events.
During the last three years we have given money to:
- Cornwall Hospice Care
- RNLI
- Cornwall Air Ambulance
- Prostate Cancer Research
- Pinnacle Cancer Research
- St Dennis Cancer
- Children’s Hospice South West
- Phoenix Stroke Appeal
- Merlin MS Centre
Members may like to know that you have contributed to raising £25,200 during three years and the 2013/14 Captain and Lady Captain’s nominated Charity, Children’s Hospice South West has £1,700 in the fund with 3 months still to go.
All the money raised goes straight to the Charity, nothing is kept back for administration and so we try to do our little bit to help others. Your contribution is appreciated by many organisations and best of all, by individuals who are perhaps not as fortunate as ourselves.
Thank you for all your efforts we know that whilst charity begins at home, St Austell Golf Club will continue to help and support others in our community.
