The Wills Salver team travelled to Looe to do battle with China Fleet.
Although the team selected had a wider range of handicaps than some previously we still ended up giving a total of 10 shots across the 5 matches.
On a cold and very blustery afternoon the first pair out were PJ Lund and Gary Johns. Although the first was halved their opponents took the next three holes and never looked back, eventually winning 6 and 5.
Glyn Rowett and Mark Burt were next onto the tee and although the early stages were pretty even their opponents gradually opened up a 3 hole lead around the turn. The back nine was an up and down affair until Glyn and Mark won 15 and 16 to bring themselves back into contention.
Unfortunately a par on the 17th was enough for their opponents to take the match 3 and 2.
However the third match featuring Jay Isbell and Sparky Smith was a very different affair as they dominated from the start and went on to secure a 4 and 2 victory. The overall match was brought level by the father and son pairing of Phil and Dean Kent who with mum Julie on the bag recorded a fine 4 and 3 victory.
The final match out on the course was between two of our juniors, Evan Warren and Ollie Watson and another family pair from China Fleet. Unfortunately China Fleet held a 3 hole advantage on the 16th tee and hands were shaken a few minutes later on that green.
Many thanks to the players and all those who travelled to support the team, particularly those who caddied.
