Wow – what a day… Just a teeny tiny bit of rain, and then dry with some lovely warm sunshine. The perfect setting for Rhys’s Junior Captain Day!
The game of choice was the power play special better ball stableford. 2 flags – the standard and the double pointer, invariably in a very tough pin position! Which one to play for, was entirely at the players discretion…
Some our younger juniors were encouraged to play 9 holes with their adult partners, and I think everyone of them finished with great big smiles.
1st – Liam Bromley and Matt Richards – 40 points
2nd – Genevieve Facey and Val Cross – 34 points
The 18 hole competition yielded some great scores as most pairs took on the tougher flag positions.
1st – Ollie Watson & Gary Warren – 78 points
2nd – Zac Rogers & Mandy Jago – 74 points c/b
3rd – Bradley Varcoe & Gary Johns – 74 points
4th – Eldon Douglas & Kevin Metherall – 73 points
5th – Brodie Richards & Gill Shepard – 70 points c/b
The putting competition was a Facey affair, with dad Ross and daughter Genevieve winning the adult and junior versions respectively.
Everyone enjoyed the carvery, and were well entertained by Rhys’ speech. Well done to Rhys, and his generous parents who worked hard to make this a special day (especially for the cakes that were so popular). And a big thank you to Trudy for manning the desk and sorting the cards!
