Mixed Section
Mixed golf has always had its place at St.Austell Golf Club. They play mixed competitions on almost every Sunday of the year, with some 30 pairs during the main golfing season with 12–20 pairs playing on a regular basis each week.
The Mixed Fours format has been extended to include Medal and Stableford foursomes. Greensomes, Texas and Dallas Scrambles and games with a mixed format are also played. Six trophies are competed for:
- The Roberts Pairs
- The Hilda Williams Salvers
- The John Job Salver
- The Foundation Cup
- The Millennium Trophy
- The Boomerang Bash
Twelve Club Matches are played each year against other clubs as far apart as West Cornwall and Elfordleigh.
In recent years the Mixed Fours have been organized by Brian and Pat Marsh, Geoff and Gwen Pritchard, Gary and Gill Harper, Brian and Brenda Marsh and John and Ann Sweet.
The Open Mixed Foursomes is held annually in June when the Jean Davey memorial trophies, presented in1991 by Ron Davey, are competed for. The mixed fours group, as a whole, are major supporters of the social side of the Club.
