Mens Section
The Mens Section of St.Austell Golf Club is very well supported. The mens competition is held weekly on a Saturday throughout the year.
During the season the men compete for various cups and trophies and hold a Winter League during the winter months
Ladies Section
We have a very strong Ladies Section at St.Austell. The Ladies have their own committee responsible for running all aspects of ladies’ golf. The Ladies’ Captain and Secretary have automatic seats on the Club’s Management Committee.
Juniors Section
We have a thriving Juniors Section at St.Austell Golf Club which was formed in 1971 by Jim Daly and Des Perrier. It has gone from strength to strength over the years and is supported by all sections of the Club.
The Juniors are well served by our professional, Tony Pitts, and particularly by his assistant, Russell Binney, who has developed a particular rapport with his youngsters during their weekly coaching sessions.
Mixed Section
Mixed golf has always had its place at St.Austell Golf Club. They play mixed competitions on almost every Sunday of the year, with some 30 pairs during the main golfing season with 12–20 pairs playing on a regular basis each week.
The Mixed Fours format has been extended to include Medal and Stableford foursomes. Greensomes, Texas and Dallas Scrambles and games with a mixed format are also played. Six trophies are competed for:
Seniors Section
The Seniors' Section of the club was established in 1985 and is open to all male members over the age of 60
The group has gone from strength to strength and now has a very full golfing calendar in its own right, with weekly competitions and some 30 friendly matches throughout the year.
Lady Vets
Within the ladies section there is a very active Vets group.
The current Lady Vets Captain is Jill Stewart who was appointed in December 2011.
Whilst fully supporting the ladies as a whole, they do have their own meetings and friendly vets matches. They roll up every Monday and there's always a draw for partners.
Club Teams
St.Austell Golf Club have had a lot of competition successes over the years winning The Frank Wills Salver for the first time in 1977/78 and then again in 1982/83 at Trevose.
The club were runners up in 1986 against Newquay playing at Perranporth.
