Bar Closed, Course & Locker Rooms Open

The Coronavirus is proving to be a fast moving beast which has resulted in the Government Enforcing the Closure of Pubs, Clubs, Cafes and Bars from midnight tonight.

Therefore the Bar will be closed tomorrow but the locker rooms and toilets will be open. The golf course still remains open.

In the Locker Rooms, The Pro Shop and on the Course, you must maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from other members, visitors or staff

The Management Committee held an emergency meeting last night to discuss our immediate response and future potential actions as the Coronavirus Virus Pandemic develops.

Please note we are still OPEN and delighted to welcome members and visitors to St Austell Golf Club for social and reciprocal golf.

Following guidelines received from the PGA, R&A, GCMA, BIGGA, and further updates yesterday from England Golf, with immediate effect:-

• The course remains open
• All club competitions, matches remain open
• Opens competitions are suspended until May, with a review at the end of April.
• We will endeavour to reschedule any cancelled opens later in the year.
• Clubhouse bar and limited catering facilities are currently available, however this will be reviewed on a daily basis.
• All Club functions, parties are cancelled until further notice
• In the Clubhouse, Locker Rooms, Shop and on the Course, you must maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from other members, visitors or staff

We apologise for any inconvenience caused in what are extremely challenging times globally and nationally..

On the course :-

• All water fountains are switched off
• We recommend only 1 person per buggy
• Ball washers are not to be used
• The air pipe shoe cleaners have been turned off
• Bunkers – see temporary competition conditions
• Do not remove flags on the green, leave them in the hole
• Retrieve your ball from the hole with your gloved hand
• Score cards – see temporary competition conditions
• In a 3 or 4 ball, 1 person to mark the scorecards
• Do not shake hands
• Walk at least 2 metres apart
• We recommend only 1 person per buggy
